Home Again

Wednesday | 9 May 2001 | Home: We spent several day in Bend, Oregon at the Crown Villa RV Park, visiting with family and then headed home.

We had a very uneventful, though scenic drive home. We were following a Jeep driving 40 mph most of the way home, so we had a lot of time to enjoy the scenery! We had fabulous views of The Three Sisters, Broken Top, Mt. Washington, Three Fingered Jack and Mt. Jefferson. Of course, not thinking everyone reading my journal has not already seen these mountains... I did not stop to take photos. I apologize for my lack of judgment. Snow-capped peaks against brilliant blue skies are spectacular and I am sorry you missed them.

My driver stopped in Lyons at The Gingerbread House in Lyons, and we had warm ginger cake, topped with soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Always a treat!

So now we are home and my favorite hound is snoring at my feet and I am happy. We had another great trip - even though we needed a new windscreen - 17 nights, 8 campgrounds, 5 golf courses, and 2,076 miles.

Until my next report, I remain your there's-no-place-like-home correspondent.
