Dream Sequence

Monday - 25 November 2002: Yuma, Arizona - Last night, while all of you were sleeping, Michael Douglas, Steven Spielberg and I were saving the U.S. from certain terrorist attack. From a conference room, somewhere deep inside a State Department building, we were carefully monitoring the on-line activity of a spy. Unfortunately this spy killed himself before we could find his location, as he knew he was doomed because he had double-crossed us. Meanwhile, there was a tornado in Washington, DC and it came very close to a horse farm - in Georgetown - owned by a young woman who came in to report to us about the storm and she also had some interesting information about the spy. (By the way, did you know there is a woman, employed by the State Department, whose entire purpose in life is to entertain Vice President Cheney? She is to keep him busy and amused all day. She is clearly Caucasian, yet the Veep thinks she is Japanese, so she walks around speaking with a fake Japanese accent. The Vice President has not caught on.) While all of this was going on, DT was back at our suite in The Watergate Hotel amusing Catherine Zeta-Jones!

My advice: Avoid the Chimichanga, Margarita and Pumpkin Tamale combination. DT says I can sell my dream screen play to Hollywood, as long as he gets to play himself in the "Catherine Zeta-Jones scenario".

Even with this wild dream, I slept very well - it was our 350th night in Goldie - and woke early. Snickers went on a jog with DT, so the dog will sleep well as we head west. While we were getting ready to leave, the U.S. Air Force put on a free air show for us above our heads - F-18's were practicing maneuvers... or were they looking for me to help them with a spy case??? Hmmmm. By 10:30 a.m., we were on our way to Yuma, via I-10 & I-8.

And, by 3:30 p.m. we arrived in Yuma - though it was not a pleasant journey. The wind was blowing so hard, DT had a difficult time keeping Goldie on the road. He just HATES driving in wind and is thinking a 45,000 lb. RV may be just the thing we need to help with this problem. The wind was blowing so hard, there was a cloud of dust/sand as far as the eye could see towards the west. Yuma is in a cloud of dust. We vacuumed Goldie this morning - and it needs it again! The dust hurts your eyes and makes you sneeze - I can't imagine what it is doing to our lungs. But we are in Yuma for the Happiest of Reasons - My Parents are here! As soon as My Mom had the Okay from her docs - my folks hit the road in their RV and are on their way to Mexico. We are rendezvousing here for the Thanksgiving Holiday! We also had the Pleasant Surprise of a visit by my Uncle Rick (Dad's brother) and Aunt Sharlene - as they were here for the day visiting my parents! Wouldn't you know it - I didn't take one photo! (I am so angry at myself.) Rick and Sharlene are vacationing in Palm Springs and came to Yuma for the day. We had such a lovely visit! Isn't it funny who you can run into in Yuma?

We had dinner with Mom and Dad - Mom made delicious enchiladas and we spent the evening with them catching up and looking at photos of our trip. Snickers received many treats. He is very happy to be with Grandma again. (Snickers thinks "Grandma" means "Lady who feeds me at the table.")
