Yellowstone National Park
Sunday - 22 June 2003: West Yellowstone, Montana
- By ten o'clock this morning, all eight of us were in two cars and headed
toward Yellowstone National Park. It was snowing. Can you believe it?
Sometimes the light flurries would stop and occasionally early in the day,
we actually saw a bit of blue sky. We took the northern loop, which has
beautiful scenery - but we didn't see too much today, except snow. By the
time we had completed three-quarters of the loop we had near white-out
conditions and the snow was sticking on the road, so we headed home. Still,
we were in the park for 7 hours today. Just a fascinating part of our
planet!
Because I am using a phone line (modem hook-up at campground office) I will
just send over a lot of photos and leave the chatter to a minimum. Today we
saw Sandhill Cranes, Elk, Bison, an Eagle, lots of other birds and a few
deer. Enjoy!
