Palm Creek RV Resort

Sunday - 11 January 2004 - Casa Grande, Arizona: If I mention, again, that the weather was fabulous, would you be angry with me? Sorry! Today, DT and I played the course here at the resort - the pretty Par-3. It was fun, though easy and even I didn't play too poorly and had a few pars and lots of bogeys.

A view back to the Palm Creek RV Resort Club House. This is a RV park?

Tomorrow we are heading out here - well, we are being kicked out of yet another park... this time because we are not (quite) 55 years old.

Notes on Palm Creek RV Resort: I failed to mention the low-down on this huge RV park - Palm Creek RV Resort is for campers aged 55 years or older only... meaning one person in the camper must be at least 55 and there can be no children under 18. Anyway, while they didn't actually ask for I.D., they did mention that it was a 55+ park. I told them we were retired, but not quite 55. They said it would be okay for us to stay here, but for just a few days.

At the local supermarket, we were some of the youngest shoppers and there is a surplus supply of drivable shopping carts and acres of handicap parking. I would venture to guess there are a lot of elderly residents in Casa Grande. While walking the other evening, I talked with campers who told me the population of Casa Grande increases by 25,000 in the winter and nearly everyone is retired. Well, they may be 55+, but they sure party! I could not believe the number of noisy patio cocktail parties I passed on my walk!

The sunsets in this part of Arizona are so pretty! We are having a quiet evening at home. I have made a white-and-purple hominy posole in my crockpot and it is beginning to smell very inviting!
