Portofino Restaurant | Puerto Penasco, Mexico

Saturday - 17 January 2004 - Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico: We have a constant source of entertainment just watching people trying to maneuver their giant motorhomes or trailers into these tight camp sites. Last night, a nearby motor coach was "clipped" by another camper and had a bent bedroom awning brace to repair this morning. It seemed to be a group effort, with my Dad loaning his vise and ladder to the repair crew. Much advice was given by all. Even DT had to venture over to oversee the repair. Later in the day we gathered down at the beach and watched the sunset while shopping with passing vendors and sipping cocktails. Life is quite stressful here in Mexico.

Tonight, we pretended we were at home and went out for Italian food at Portofino. I wasn't expecting much, but I must say my meal was quite nice. They had a decent caprese, with cheese imported from Tucson (obviously a hub of fresh buffalo mozzarella?) and we even had a nice bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio. All of our dinners were nice and I think I may have ended-up having the same grilled white fish I ordered last night, but it was delicious and I finished every bit. They had nice live music and we really enjoyed ourselves.
