Playa Bonita RV Park | Puerto Penasco, Mexico
Tuesday - 27 January 2004 - Puerto Penasco, Sonora,
Mexico: As you can see from the photos below, our weather was again
fantastic! It only gets to about 65 degrees during the day, so don't feel
too envious of us! After we started moving around this morning, DT went for
a run and because it was such a low tide, we walked way down the beach so we
could take photos of Playa Bonita RV Park for my readers. We want you to
truly appreciate what camping on the beach in Mexico is all about.

Here is a view of Playa Bonita RV Park from the beach.

Happy Camping
The day was spent enjoying the sun. Needlework in the sun.
Reading in the sun. Crossword puzzles in the sun. A loud and fun family (in
about 4 RVs) are now camped next to Mom & Dad. They think Happy Hour starts
around 10 am, and they have brought along a home-made game - like a bean-bag
toss game, except they are tossing large metal washers (?). They played loud
Mexican music and the more they drank the louder they laughed. They were
having so much fun, none of the nearby campers seemed to care about all the
noise. Plus, we knew after all that drinking in the sun, they wouldn't be
much trouble by the evening.

Happy Hour tonight was for the birds!
Anyway, we had our own Happy Hour to worry about! The four
of us walked down to the resort to enjoy a cold beverage on the sunny patio
with our fellow Campers at the restaurant at the Playa Bonita RV Park/Hotel.
(I say this as I am sure there are few, if any, guests at the hotel.) Oh,
the shopping was delightful this evening! The ladies were buying like mad,
an absolutely frenzy of commerce. Tonight there were dolphins jumping just a
few feet off-shore, and on the horizon we could see the constant spouting
from a pod of whales. Very enjoyable cocktail time! We ordered a quesadilla,
and didn't eat the rice, so the tweety-birds finished it off for us.

Sunset Tuesday - The Baja Peninsula across the Sea of Cortes
DT ran into his favorite vendor, Daniel, on our way back to
the camper. Daniel is now giving DT a volume discount and tonight DT scored
4 bobble-head turtles for $3. We also came home with two additions to our
parachute/kite thingy-dealy collection: Superman and "Barbie".
We had dinner at the
Friendly Dolphin again, but this time, instead of fish, we tried their
Mexican food - tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and chile rellanos! Delicious!
